Why do I need to VERIFY my account?

Verifying your account helps for a few reasons.
  • It ensures our team and other users that your profile was not created for spam purposes.
  • Verifying adds a layer of security to your account.
  • Our verification system makes it harder to spam accounts to bother users.
Once you've officially been verified by the system, your account will display a blue check mark to show you've verified your account.

Is being verified mandatory?

Verifying your account IS mandatory for all accounts. This is done to further protect our users from spam accounts being created. Users who do not verify will not be able to chat, Instant Message, send Inbox Messages or Friend Requests until they verify their account.

Will my account be deleted if I don't verify it?

No. We do not close accounts just because they are not verified. This is just a process to help protect users against those trying to harass others via spam accounts.

Will my phone number then be displayed publicly? Will anyone be able to see my number?

Your number is not displayed to anyone. It is only being used to verify your account.

I think I already verified my number in my account. Why do I have to do it again?

This is a completely different verification process as it verifies your whole account. The verification of your phone number in your account settings is to ensure our system sends text notifications, if you have them set up to go to your number, are going to a verified phone and not a randomly provided number. The verification process being described in this topic has nothing to do with notifications.

My Country is not listed on the verification page. Can MocoSpace Support or Admins verify my account for me?

Due to how the verification system is set up, our team cannot verify an account on behalf of a user. Unfortunately, our verification system is run through another company. MocoSpace does not control what countries can use this verification process.

If my country isn't listed is there ANYTHING I can do to verify my account?

Users whose countries are not listed can attempt sending the required code to one of the international numbers listed via text or phone call. Warning: There is no guaranteeing this will work and you may incur international text or call rates, which you are responsible for.
